On your arrival at the Keflavik international airport, you pick up your luggage and get to the bus station just outside the terminal to Reykjavik. In 50 min you’ll be dropped off at your accommodation, located downtown, close to the Hallgrimskirkja church (*upon availability). After the check in, free evening in town. Being located in the center, everything is reachable by feet, enjoying a large choice of coffee, bars and restaurants for this first evening in Iceland.
After a large breakfast taken at your accommodation, you have time to discover the capitale and You’ll end the day at the Blue Lagoon with a welcome glass, an absolute relaxing moment and a real Icelandic way of life. The bus will drop you back in town. Free evening.
Today, you leave Reykjavik for a three-day adventure tour, an amazing way to explore the country’s highlights of the South Coast. Your guide (different from yesterday) will pick you up after breakfast and drive you to two beautiful waterfalls. Indeed Seljalandfoss and Skogafoss are among the most impressive waterfalls in the country. You will continue this day with a stop at Reynisfjara beach, known for its beautiful basalt columns and slender rocks. Here the power of the ocean is infinite. On the other side of the cliffs, is found the beach of Vik and its famous petrified trolls. This black sandy beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Evening in the region of Kirkjubæjarklaustur and possibility to fully appreciate the show of the northern lights.
You continue this journey towards the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. Today, in addition to the discovery of this famous lagoon, known for its sublime landscapes of icebergs floating on the surface before throwing itself into the sea, you will have the opportunity to make a beautiful walk on the glacier and visit and ice cave with a specialized guide. Hold your breath for this unique experience that awaits you… Return to your hotel for the night.
You go back in direction of Reykjavik with a detour at the Golden Circle to discover the three emblematic sites of this region. Gullfoss is an impressive waterfall known for its beauty and power, Geysir is the only geyser in the country and should surprise you with its spontaneity. Finally, you will get closer to the mid-Atlantic ridge again as you stroll through the heart of the Almannagjá fault. This UNESCO-listed site has also a rich history for the Icelandic people as it used to be the location of the oldest parliament in the world. Return to Reykjavik and back to your accommodation. Free evening.
Free day in the capital. Explore Reykjavik, visit some of its great museums, walk through the narrow streets of the city center, visit the cultural center Harpa or the beautiful Hallgrimskirkja church. Finally a visit to Reykjavik is never complete without a tour to its small port. Night at the same place.
